Ford Mustang Dark Horse — P&S STOUT Ceramic Coating
Dark paint, wing, splitter and all, under one coating.
Ford Mustang Dark Horse · 2026-10-14
Customer context
A black Dark Horse at the shop in Oakland, coated before the paint had a chance to pick up wash marks.
What we did
- Full wash, iron decon and clay to clear bonded contamination before the coating
- P&S Inspiration STOUT ceramic coating across every painted panel
- Cure before the car went back on the road
Process detail
- Dark metallic paint shows wash marring quickly; a coating does not stop marring, but it makes safe washing much easier, which is where marring comes from
- Aero parts and the rear wing are painted panels too, so they are prepped and coated the same as the body
- STOUT is a high-solids coating with a strongly hydrophobic surface: water sheets off, dirt lets go on a rinse
- Aftercare: a Maintenance Wash every few weeks keeps the coating healthy
