SMART+ in 70, 20 and 05 is on the shelf and books any open day. Every other shade and line is ordered for your vehicle, arrives in about 3 days, and needs a deposit before the film order goes in. Old-tint removal is quoted by the vehicle.
What the law allows, window by window.
California Vehicle Code 26708. We install to it and we will not pretend otherwise.
Glass plus film must pass at least 70% of visible light, and the film must be clear and near-colorless. Dark fronts are not legal here.
Any shade, as long as the vehicle has side mirrors on both sides. This is where 05 and 20 live.
Film only on the top strip above the AS-1 line. A full windshield needs a signed medical exemption; bring the letter and we will do it.
Red, amber or blue films, and anything more mirror-reflective than plain glass. None of our films are.

What is the difference between ACTION+, SMART+ and NEX+?
All three are STEK films with 99% UV rejection and a limited lifetime warranty against fading, bubbling, cracking and delamination. The difference is how much heat they stop. ACTION+ is nano-carbon (TSER up to 55%). SMART+ is nano-ceramic (TSER up to 60%, IRER up to 63%). NEX+ is graphene-infused ceramic (TSER up to 64%, IRER up to 66%, and STEK's highest infrared rejection). Same shade, more heat rejection as you move up.
Which shades do you carry?
SMART+ is on the shelf in 70, 20 and 05. Every other SMART+ shade, and all of ACTION+ and NEX+, is ordered for your job and arrives in about three days. Those bookings need a deposit before we place the film order.
What is legal in California?
California Vehicle Code 26708: the front side windows must still pass at least 70% of visible light with film on, and the film itself must be a clear, near-colorless film. Dark tint on the fronts is not legal in California and we will tell you that up front. Rear side windows and the back glass can be any shade as long as the vehicle has side mirrors on both sides. Windshield: film is allowed only on the top strip above the AS-1 line, unless you have a signed medical exemption. Red, amber and blue films and mirror-reflective films are not allowed.
How long does tint take?
Sides and rear on a sedan or coupe: about 3 hours. SUV or truck: about 3.5 hours. Front two windows only: about an hour. Add roughly 90 minutes for a windshield and an hour for a Tesla glass roof. Shop-only — film needs a clean, still-air bay.
Can I roll the windows down right away?
No. Leave the windows up for 3 days so the adhesive cures. A little haze or a few small water pockets in the first week are normal and clear on their own as the moisture evaporates.
Will ceramic tint block my phone, GPS or toll tag?
No. None of the three STEK lines contain metal, so cellular, WiFi, GPS, satellite radio and FasTrak work exactly as before. Metallized films from the old days caused that problem; these do not.
Do you tint Tesla glass roofs?
Yes. A tinted glass roof is one of the most noticeable upgrades on a Model 3 or Model Y — it cuts the heat load from above without changing the look of the car. It is an add-on to any package.
What about the warranty?
STEK covers all three lines with a limited lifetime warranty against fading, delamination, bubbling and cracking. We register the film to your vehicle after the install; keep your invoice.
Can you remove old tint first?
Yes. Old, purple or bubbling film comes off before new film goes on. Removal is quoted by the vehicle because rear windows with defroster lines take more care. Text us a photo and we will price it.
