A silver GLE at the shop in Oakland. Silver hides swirls well; what it does not hide is water spotting and dull paint, both of which a coating addresses.
What we did
- Full wash, iron decon and clay to clear bonded contamination before the coating
- P&S Inspiration STOUT ceramic coating across every painted panel
- Cure before the car went back on the road
Process detail
- A big SUV has a lot of flat, sun-facing paint: hood, roof, liftgate. That is where UV does its work, and where the coating earns its keep
- Chrome trim and brightwork are masked or wiped clear so the coating does not haze on them
- STOUT is a high-solids coating with a strongly hydrophobic surface: water sheets off, dirt lets go on a rinse
- Aftercare: a Maintenance Wash every few weeks keeps the coating healthy
