Lucid Air detailing, ceramic, and PPF — Bay Area.
Lucid Air is one of the best paint-applications coming out of any new-EV factory — and Bay Area Lucid owners know it. Most of the Lucid work we do is preventive: full-front PPF before the car has a single chip, ceramic over the rest while the paint is still factory-perfect. Sapphire owners go further — full-body PPF + Final Coat over the top.
Lucid models we work on
Each platform has its own quirks. Here's what we see most often.
Air Sapphire
The car that justifies full-body PPF + Final Coat. Stealth-finish trim panels left bare or matte-PPF wrapped to spec.
Air Grand Touring / Touring
Front-end PPF + STOUT ceramic is the standard combo. Quartz White attracts UV; coat it early.
Air Pure
Daily-driver focused — front-end PPF + ceramic on the rest, optional rocker PPF.
Gravity SUV (when it ships)
Reach out before delivery — we'll have STEK pre-cut patterns ready when the SUV hits the road.
What to get on a Lucid.
- → PPF Full Body (4-door) — from $7,500 (Sapphire-class)
- → PPF Full Front + STOUT ceramic — $1,800 + $900
- → STEK Final Coat top-coat over PPF — +$300
Lucid pricing — published, no quote-after-call.
Vehicle-specific PPF + ceramic prices for verified-tier models. Full Front PPF is flat $1,800 across all vehicles (varies only by coverage area, not by car size). Ceramic + Full Body PPF vary by vehicle-size tier. Models not in our canonical tier list are quoted per-vehicle after we confirm dimensions.
Lucid Air Sapphire / Grand Touring / Touring / Pure and the upcoming Gravity SUV are not in our canonical vehicle-size tier — text us with model + trim for a verified per-vehicle quote. Lucid sedans typically price at Large tier; Gravity will likely be Large-XL.
Add-ons (flat across vehicles): STEK Final Coat top-coat +$300 (extends PPF warranty 10 → 12 yrs, registered at stekshield.com) · Rocker panels PPF +$400 · A-pillar PPF +$85 · Headlights PPF +$80 · Door cups PPF +$65 · Door edges PPF +$50. Lucid FAQ
What does PPF cost for a Lucid?
Full Front PPF is a flat $1,800 across all Lucid models (hood + fenders + bumper + mirrors). Full Body and ceramic vary by vehicle size — text us year + model + trim for a verified per-vehicle quote. STEK Final Coat top-coat is +$300 and extends the PPF warranty from 10 to 12 years.
Is Lucid paint really softer than other brands?
Lucid paint hardness is in the normal premium-marque range. The bigger paint-life factor is wash discipline (no brush automatic washes, pH-neutral chemistry) and protection coverage (PPF on impact zones + ceramic on the rest). See the recommended package above.
Do you do mobile service for Lucid owners?
Yes — detailing and ceramic coating are mobile or shop at the same price. We bring our own water + power. PPF is shop-only because film install requires a dust-controlled environment (drop off at 3425 Ettie St, Oakland).
How long does Lucid PPF install take?
Hood or Bumper-only: 1 day. Full Front (4 panels): 1 day. Full Body: 3 days. We don't rush installs — proper edge wrapping + cure time is what makes PPF last the full 10-year warranty window (12 with Final Coat registered at stekshield.com).
What's the best protection package for a daily-driven Lucid?
Full Front PPF ($1,800) + P&S STOUT ceramic on the rest of the car (5 yr durability, 107° hydrophobic) + optional Final Coat over the PPF (+$300) for the 12-year warranty extension. EV-class paint particularly benefits from ceramic given the soft factory clear coat.
